As part of our commitment to nurturing young minds and addressing the pressing challenges facing education in South Africa, we have launched an after-school program aimed at empowering children through literacy, numeracy, and life skills education.
As you may be aware, the Department of Education’s studies have revealed alarming statistics, with over 41% of Grade 3 pupils in the Western Cape struggling to read, write, or count at the appropriate level for their age. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education and support, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Our after-school program seeks to address the various challenges facing literacy, numeracy, and life skills education in South Africa, including large classes, language barriers, teacher training deficiencies, and resource shortages. Through collaborative efforts and innovative methodologies, we aim to inspire interest and understanding among young learners in these critical areas.
One of our primary goals in this project is to provide interactive and curriculum-inspired activities and resources that make learning literacy, numeracy, and life skills stimulating for children. By engaging both teachers and parents, we strive to create a supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and involvement in children’s early education needs.
With your support, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these children and pave the way for a brighter future. Mindful Children’s Education in Africa is committed to:
- Assisting children with school homework
- Supporting their academic progress
- Supplementing coursework taught by schools
- Improving children’s abilities in English, Afrikaans, Math, and, in the future, science
